The Levin family has a long history of donating to those in need. We proudly continue this company tradition by contributing to our local communities.
Here are just a few of our recent efforts:
- Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – Levin’s has supported this worthy charity for many years through sponsorship, donations & being a site for race packet distribution.
- Akron Children’s Hospital – The Akron & Canton store staffs partnered with this great facility to raise funds through the “Have a Heart Do Your Part” radio-thon. The staff collected spare change and sold hearts & pandas to raise funds along with a donation from Levin’s.
- Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh - We’ve supported the Free Care Fund for many years through donation and sales of plush animals at holiday. The Free Care Fund pledges that no child in the community will be denied medical care because of their family’s financial circumstances.
- University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute – Again, Levin’s has long supported the advancement of cancer research and care through donations.
- Levin Furniture was proud to sponsor Tour de Cure, a cycling event benefitting the American Diabetes Association. This event, included rides for all skill levels, including the 100-Mile Ultimate Challenge, 50-Mile Training Ride, 20/30 Mile Fitness Test or the 8-Mile Family Fun Ride. In addition to serving as the VIP Tent Sponsor of the Tour de Cure, Levin Furniture collected donations at all store location from customers and associates and had a large Tour de Cure team participate in the event.
- Gilda’s Club – Levin’s support of this organization helps toward cancer support services for patients and their families.
- American Red Cross – support towards the critical assistance and relief efforts in response to the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.
- Make A Wish – associates for our Ohio design team and stores staff helped make a dream come true for a person with a serious illness through donation of home furnishings and room design.
- Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council – Support of programs to assist individual reach their personal and educational goals and improve their lives.
- Cleveland Furniture Bank – Levin’s supports this charity through donations of furniture and through participation in the “There’s No Place Like Home” fundraiser. The Cleveland Furniture Bank’s mission is to provide hope to families who are trying to restart their lives by helping them turn a house into a home.
- University of Pittsburgh – Support of the University’s Cancer Research Fund supports education and research.
- Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Donation to support the library’s innovative educational improvement programs.
- Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre, Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Pittsburgh Public Theater – Support of the arts has always been near and dear to the Levin family and we continue this tradition today.
- Support of Our Troops – the staff of the Century III store collected goods to be sent to our troops stationed in Afghanistan.
